Magzter’s Go Green Contest saves more than 2,000 Trees

New York, New York – Magzter, the world’s largest digital magazine newsstand, ran a unique and interesting “Go Green” contest between September 16 and October 15, which encouraged its millions of readers across the globe to read more magazines digitally. The contest was a roaring success as readers from over 190 countries participated in it and saved more than 2,000 trees by reading all that they love on Magzter.

The winner of the Go Green contest, Mr. Adharsh Iyenggar, who read the most number of magazine pages during the contest period, walked away with a brand new iPhone 7, while nine other top readers were rewarded with $100 (USD) gift cards each. This contest not only motivated the existing users to read more digitally, but also encouraged thousands of new readers to plunge into digital reading, which ultimately helped in saving more trees and the environment.

Magzter has a page on their website which showcases how much their readers are helping in saving the environment by reading digitally and saving paper and thereby trees, oil, landfill space, energy, water and air pollution.

Following the success of Go Green contest, Magzter has launched an all-new exciting contest – The Ultimate Reading Championship, on October 25. Many more exciting activities are added in this contest apart from reading magazines, which will take the readers closer to winning some fabulous prizes.

More than 10,000 people participated in the first contest and the Magzter team predicts this number to exponentially increase in the upcoming contests as more readers are increasingly switching from print to digital reading.

New Custom Photo Flashcards iPad App Reinvents Traditional Education

Bowling Green, Kentucky – iRecognize, an app for creating custom photo flashcard quizzes by iRecognize Solutions, LLC officially launches their tool for learning and recollection in the iTunes App Store. iRecognize allows users to create quizzes intended for learning and recollection by using their own photos, text, and voice to create one-of-a-kind educational material. Unlike traditional, and often mundane testing material, iRecognize has created a unique learning environment to improve and test skills of all levels.

“We noticed a gap in relatability with ordinary learning materials, so I created iRecognize to allow users to design custom quizzes using content they are familiar with; their own,” says Richard Dressler, CEO of iRecognize Solutions, LLC.”

iRecognize features an easily navigated user interface that allows its quiz makers and takers to instantly create a custom quiz, test their skills with one of the pre-loaded quizzes, and track their progress with the results tool.

iRecognize has an infinite amount of applications limited only by one’s imagination. From introducing pre-schoolers their colors, shapes, and basic concepts, to helping students of any grade or subject prepare for a big exam. iRecognize even serves as a great tool for keeping the elderly sharp during their golden years. Users can create quizzes in any language, or combination of languages, which makes it perfect for language classes as well. Parents with special needs children will enjoy the iRecognize’s customization platform that allows them to create familiar content that their child will want to engage with.

“Whether you’re an adult or adolescent, we all suffer from day-dreaming, or loss of interest from time-to-time. iRecognize’s use of materials that we recognize is more likely to keep the test-taker’s attention over uninteresting imagery that they don’t relate to,” says Dressler.

MacHTTP-js Preview for macOS Released

Leesburg, Virginia – MacHTTP.Org today released MacHTTP-js Preview for macOS, a full-featured Web server for 21st century desktops and servers. MacHTTP-js is a modern take on the classic stand-alone, desktop computer Web server plus a whole lot more, using current state-of-the-art technology while derived from the core ideas that went into the creation of the original Mac Web server, MacHTTP.

MacHTTP-js eliminates the need to understand arcane command line tools or to be an expert in deploying Linux-based servers. Instead, it returns to its roots as a double-clickable application with a friendly user interface allowing anyone technical enough to operate a text editor to set up a web server or create compelling Web applications on their desktop which can be migrated to public servers.

“MacHTTP-js is an updated incarnation for a new generation of Mac desktop users,” said Chuck Shotton, creator of MacHTTP-js. “Why should anyone suffer with Apache or nginx on the desktop when MacHTTP-js is available? The answer is you shouldn’t.”

Implemented with modern technologies like node.js, Express.js, and Electron, MacHTTP-js is designed for upcoming versions to run on multiple different operating systems and computers, from Macs running macOS to Windows 10, various flavors of Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, RHEL, etc.), and even Raspberry Pis running Raspbian or container-based systems like Docker. These other versions will be released as part of the final release of MacHTTP-js, coming soon.

The Preview version of MacHTTP-js released today runs on any version of macOS that is actively supported by Apple. For more information on MacHTTP-js, or to download the fully functional MacHTTP-js Preview version on macOS, free of charge, visit their web site.

MacHTTP.Org was created in 2002 by Chuck Shotton to provide a home for the original MacHTTP product, its open source code, related tools and samples, and to host community development activities around MacHTTP products. Grantwood Technology Introduces the TuneBand for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus

Middleburg Heights, Ohio – Grantwood Technology, the market leader in premium technology products, has added the TuneBand for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus to its best-selling armband series. The TuneBand provides a lightweight and comfortable way to wear the iPhone while running, bicycling, working out, doing yardwork, walking around the block, or just passing time at the airport. Its protective silicone skin allows access to all ports, buttons, and cameras, while the soft, adjustable elastic strap securely holds the iPhone in place.

The simple design of the iPhone armband allows for easy installation by slipping the elastic strap through the silicone case and connecting the adjustable Velcro ends. The iPhone can then be inserted into the silicone case, which holds the smartphone snugly against the wearer’s arm. Due to the open-faced design, the TuneBand for iPhone 7 and 7 Plus provides easier access to the touchscreen than competing designs, allowing the wearer to change songs or make calls without having to remove the device. Popular 90s Novelty Toy Is Back with a Mobile App

New York, New York – THE FINAL WORD, a new app based on the popular 90s insult speaker box, has officially launched into the 21st Century and is available to download on the iTunes and Google Play stores. The adaption came from a handheld device introduced into the market in 1990 as “THE FINAL WORD.” At the press of a button this adult novelty toy delivered pre-recorded randomized profane insults. The 1990 version of THE FINAL WORD could be purchased at a retail price of $16.95 and topped out selling over 2 million units.

“Fall 2015, at a cousin’s birthday party my Aunt brought me a gift,” said Jay Raifman, creator of THE FINAL WORD app. “It was the 1990 version of the FINAL WORD device and it was still in perfect working condition which made me nostalgic.”

25 years later (November 2015) the Original Trademark was acquired by The Final Word, LLC through the United States Patent & Trademark Office, and less than a year later, THE FINAL WORD can be accessed with its own mobile app.

In the 1990s the FINAL WORD device sold millions of units. Now, a quarter of a century later marks the beginning of THE FINAL WORD app which uses today’s technology and convenience for purchase on the iPhone, iWatch and Android. “THE FINAL WORD projects a multiple of sales through downloads producing a multiple of laughs,” said Raifman.

The vintage “curse box” appealed to those who liked the sound of dirty words, but were reluctant to say them, according to an article released in 1990. The insult toy was to be used in locker rooms, saloons, elevators, board rooms and stockbroker’s offices.

Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
* Requires iOS 6.0 or later
* 31.9 MB

Pricing and Availability:
THE FINAL WORD 1.2 is Free (with in-app purchases) and available worldwide through the App Store in the Entertainment category. There is also an Android version available on Google Play. Designed by Raifman and those close to him, THE FINAL WORD app hits the mobile market with three different versions. The first version comes with only two of the four same obscene one-liners and is free to download. The second version comes with all four classic insults for only $0.99 (USD) and there is also an option to upgrade to a deluxe version with six phrases (all four classic insults plus two awesome new ones) for only $1.99.

JustSeen introduces collaborative visual storytelling

London, United Kingdom – JustSeen 2.2, the latest photo-sharing App for iPhone, addresses the issue of social media isolation by introducing Collaborative, Curated & Connected Visual Storytelling. Rather than simply posting the occasional, somewhat random photo, JustSeen advocates visual storytelling, where every photo forms part of a greater story, building a deeper visual narrative. In today’s digital drive-thru, the speed and nature of visual consumption has altered the core objective of photography. JustSeen aims to re-introduce visual fine dining.

“Currently, almost all photo apps seem geared towards rapid viewing – too fast in my opinion, explains Karim Halwagi, JustSeen founder. “Quick snaps are posted, but almost as soon as they appear, they’re gone, washed away in the fast flowing current of the social sharing river. Where’s the real appreciation for photography, amateur or professional, gone? Photos are meant to capture moments forever, but with current platforms, how often do you even look for older posts? With JustSeen, we wanted to give users the chance to still enjoy individual moments, but as part of a bigger story – maybe you see a friends’ picture from the end of their holiday, but what about the rest of that trip? Wouldn’t it be great to click and see the full story, beginning, middle and end? And without having to filter through other unrelated images. That’s what visual storytelling offers and that’s why JustSeen was created.”

JustSeen also introduces a novel approach to the issue of “Friends” versus “Followers” in that users can have both. JustSeen users who follow each other become “Friends” and this then allows for added functionality. Not only can posts and stories be shared privately just with “friends,” but users can also invite their friends to join and contribute to stories they create.

The latter concept really forms the core of the JustSeen ethos. Halwagi feels this feature will set the scene for the future. Karim commented: “Almost all social media activity today can actually be quite lonely. What I mean is that the term ‘social media’ is kind of ironic, as it can cause more isolation than anything truly social. I think the future of digital is, and must be, collaborative, where users can create content with, and for each other. The rest of the world’s opinions then become a secondary concern – no need for that elusive “hero shot,” JustSeen’s all about engagement in one way or another. Friends engaged with each other, brands engaged with their communities, people teaming up to create and share visual experiences. Imagine a family who can share a story and stay connected through their posts, or a business that can enjoy direct engagement with their audience by directly inviting them to join and contribute to their brand visual narratives. That is where we see the future. JustSeen is truly Visual Storytelling… Together.”

Device Requirements:
* iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
* Requires iOS 8.0 or later
* 84.4 MB
