Kirkland, Washington – 2Morrow, Inc. and mHealth Technologies announced the formation of a partnership to localize 2Morrow’s SmartQuit(R) evidence-based, smoking cessation app for the Turkish market. Healthcare reform, intensive awareness campaigns, and government policies have resulted in an impressive decrease in Turkey’s smoking rates over the last decade, and an increase in those seeking help with quitting. As of 2013, about 14M people in Turkey still smoked and there is strong interest and support in further reducing that number. In addition, smartphone usage has doubled in the last couple of years and continues to increase quickly.

“About 96% of the world’s smokers live outside the US,” explains Brandon Masterson, CEO of 2Morrow Inc. “Mobile technology provides an excellent tool for distributing evidence-based programs like SmartQuit(R) to people around the globe. In a feasibility study done by 2Morrow, 83% of smokers reported that they would be more likely to use an app than call a quit line for help with quitting.
