Baby Shapes is presented in stages, representing different phases in infant development. Infants are introduced to basic shapes in high contrast colors. A statistics module is available to illustrate the progress of the infant over time. A variety of relevant charting options are available, from total taps, to average time per tap, and average time per color. As all infants are unique and respond differently to different stimuli, an additional professional feature permits the user to generate a stage with customized options for the infant. Customization ranges from how the infant can interact with the shapes to the color of the shapes.
Baby Shapes began life over a year ago. “A friend had a baby who was diagnosed with Cortical Visual Impairment and he couldn’t find an appropriate app that provided relevant and quality visual stimulation for his son,” said Craig Grummitt, director of Interactive Coconut. “With Baby Shapes we wanted to provide an app that could assist infants in their development, customizable to their individual needs.”
