Coeur d’Alene, Idaho – DEVONtechnologies, LLC updates all editions of its Internet search and research tool DEVONagent as well as the context-aware search assistant DEVONsphere Express for compatibility to OS X El Capitan. All editions of DEVONagent 3.9.2 improve the compatibility to OS X El Capitan, DEVONagent Pro also to OS X Yosemite. In addition, DEVONagent Pro 3.9.2 uses the title of PDFs displayed in the build-in web browser and quickly captures non-HTML documents to DEVONthink. New search windows always start with default settings now making search results more predictable.

The Twitter, Thumbnail Gallery, Audio, and Video scanners as well as the Marketing and New Software search sets have been updated. Scanners filter search results by looking for e.g. Twitter accounts or image galleries, and return matching objects. Search sets query multiple search engines and web sites in one go. Also, DEVONagent Pro and Express 3.9.2 better filter advertising and links to social bookmarking. They smarter follow links, support UTF-32, and come with improved HTML-to-text conversion.

All editions of DEVONagent improve reliability and performance, and come with some important bug fixes.

DEVONsphere Express 1.8.4 adds support for Textbundle files and brings optimizations for OS X El Capitan. It also enhances the HTML-to-text conversion and UTF-32 support. The HTML-to-text conversion is used, among many other techniques, to build the search index. Like the update for DEVONagent this release also improves performance, and reliability.

DEVONagent is a smart internet search agent. It queries search engines and crawls web sites. It then post-filters the results and presents the results in a multitude of ways. DEVONagent is available in three editions. DEVONsphere Express adds artificial intelligence to the Mac by providing context-sensitive information system-wide.

“OS X El Capitan is Apple’s next big operating system release. These maintenance releases make DEVONagent and DEVONsphere Express ready for it. And, of course, we use the chance to throw in some workflow and performance enhancements, too,” remarks DEVONtechnologies’ President, Eric Bohnisch-Volkmann.
