Perg, Austria – Ergonis Software today released PopChar X 7.5, an improved version of the company’s award-winning tool for finding and inserting special characters and exploring fonts. PopChar X 7.5 adds support for combined emojis in the Apple Color Emoji font. These symbols are created by linking multiple emoji characters with a special “zero width joiner” character. Up to eight different characters are needed to create such combinations. For example, the family symbol with a man, a woman, and a boy consists of seven Unicode characters. With PopChar, you do not need to know the required sequences and how to generate them. Just look at the “Combined Emojis” section of Apple Color Emoji and click one of the symbols to insert it in your document.
PopChar X 7.5 furthermore enhances the “Font Info” view, which now contains information about the font format (OpenType, TrueType, PostScript). The keyboard shortcut for opening the PopChar window may now include the enter key, and starting a search for characters no longer requires to select the search field first. PopChar X 7.5 finally adds many further enhancements that improve overall speed and stability.
