Barcelona, Spain – Eyetok S.L. today is proud to announce the release of Eyetok 2.2, an update to their popular social discovery engine developed for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. Eyetok is a unique and global service based on a mobile app. It allows you to watch the world live through the eyes of others just as if you were there. Like you’ve never seen before, see everything that’s happening through live video streaming from other user’s smart phones. Version 2.2 introduces an enhanced video streaming experience and also improves situations when a user looses the network.

“Eyetok is often compared to a real time “Google Street View,” but live and on demand; crowd sourced by mobile webcams on the street,” explained Bruno Saguer, co-founder of Barcelona based Eyetok S.L. “And unlike alternative video conference tools, users who have experienced Eyetok get to watch what others are seeing with remote eyes. As an extended social network, the app allows users contact with other users geo-located on a map, anywhere in the world, and users can follow other eyetokers that are not necessarily in their agenda.”

With Eyetok, everyone’s mobile device become real mobile webcams. So the more eyetokers there are, the more everyone will see and the more of the world is shared, and all live. There are two ways to connect with all the users/eyetokers and watch the world live:

* Eyewitness – voyeur point of view: users can connect to any other user geo-located on a map and request them to broadcast live what they can see in that particular place for them.

* Exhibitionist – life hacking: wherever they are, users can broadcast what they are seeing right now, live for another user. It’s currently a 1 to 1 feature, but 1-to-many will be available soon (any user will be able to share live to its audience – followers)

As any other social network, users are rated, and videos are saved in a gallery that can be browsed at any time. Users also can manage their availability preferences, and more. The end uses for Eyetok are endless and limited only to the users imagination. It’s perfect for ephemeral events, remote verification and checking, virtual traveling, reporting and broadcasting news or incidents, eyewitness news, or any curiosity. Truly crowd-sourced video!

Headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, Eyetok S.L. is an up-start development studio established in 2013 and co-founded by Bruno Saguer and Oskar Vidal. With both previously establishing the Larsson-Duprez advertising and branding agency, their innovation and branding background sparked the simple idea of a new way to watch what’s going on in the world live, using smartphones as walking webcams. The team is also lead by a senior CTO and CFO. The company is currently seeking funds to close a seed round to start global operations for an in-house staff, user acquisition campaign and further product development.
