Westport, Connecticut – Clicker Books is the latest addition to Crick Software’s Clicker Apps, each of which focus on one key aspect of the company’s popular reading and writing software, Clicker 6. Clicker Books gives children the tools they need to create their very own talking books. The intuitive interface makes it easy for students to independently add their own text, paint pictures, insert photographs, and record sound. As they work, children benefit from key Clicker features including speech feedback and word prediction, and teachers can provide extra writing support in the form of word and picture banks.
In addition to helping children create their own books, the Clicker Books app enables teachers to put together personalized reading books for their students, modifying the subject matter and comprehension level to suit students’ specific learning needs and objectives.
As with all the Clicker Apps, Clicker Books users have access to a growing bank of ready-made reading books and book making templates via Crick’s LearningGrids site.
“Given the incredibly positive reception that our first three apps have received this year, we are very excited to launch this latest addition to the Clicker Apps family,” says Crick Software CEO, John Crick. “Many of our customers have requested a book making app with the customizable reading and writing support that Crick Software is known for, and we really look forward to getting their feedback on Clicker Books!”

Established in 1993 by teachers John and Ann Crick, the company has earned an excellent reputation for quality. All content developers, education sales consultants, and trainers are qualified teachers, and many are experienced with struggling students and learners with special needs. Crick’s products cross the artificial divide that exists between ‘regular students’ and those who need extra support. Universal Design for Learning is fundamental to everything they do; they design software for learners of all abilities and with differing educational needs, including struggling readers and writers, students with learning or physical disabilities, and English language learners. Crick Software, Inc. is a privately owned company based in Westport, Connecticut, and they use their profits to continue developing products that harness the power of technology for the benefit of all learners.
