MacDeveloper connects energetic and capable beta testers to software developers. The platform aids development teams of all sizes in testing and improving their products. The MacDeveloper community already boasts over 600 Developers and 4,170+ Testers.
With the new version of MacDeveloper, the subscription model has been depreciated. The site instead now supports an innovative “Pay-to-Test” model. MacDeveloper now leverages PayPal to allow payments into Escrow, allowing Developers to choose the amount they wish to spend from an easy-to-use drop-down menu. Testers are then paid from a ticket that is accepted by the Developer. When a Developer accepts any submitted ticket, the Tester will be paid real money for their efforts when the Project Channel is closed.

When a Developer opens a Project Channel, they are walked through entering the basic information about the application, uploading a binary for testing (or supply a download URL), enter the types of tickets that testers will be allowed to submit for the build, and any special instructions for testers. Developers can then enter the amount of funds to be placed into escrow from the Developer’s PayPal fund. Amounts range from $20.00 to $200.00.

When Testers sign up for the MacDeveloper program, they enter the profile of their Mac, such as Processor type, macOS version, Amount of RAM, Processor speed, and more. They also select the types of Project Categories they are interested in.

* Testers may choose only the Software Categories that interest them
* Earn Real Money for Testing Software
* Earn valuable Star Ratings for being a Quality Tester
The Tester’s Dashboard will display Project Channels, with available testing opportunities related to their selected interests. Testers can then subscribe to a Developer’s Project Channels. Users can then download and test the application. Once a bug is discovered, the Tester can quickly submit Tickets (bug reports) to a Developer by clicking on the “Submit Ticket” button and entering information about the bug. Any tickets accepted by the developer will earn money for the tester, as shown in the above list.
The Suggestions mechanism is now known as “Features Requests” and is now similar to a ticket type, allowing Testers to communicate with Developers across Feature Requests exactly like they do with any other ticket type.
When a testing cycle is complete, the Developer closes the Project Channel. The MacDeveloper system then automatically handles the payout to Testers who submitted tickets that were accepted by the Developer for that Project. Testers receive both a payment notification from PayPal, as well as a notification from MacDeveloper when payment has been made.
MacDeveloper offers a convenient and easy to manage way for Developers to connect with a well-informed and energetic pool of testers, who can provide valuable feedback during the Mac application development and testing process. Testers can help Developers fine-tune their applications, while getting the opportunity to try upcoming apps and make some money while doing it.

Pricing:
MacDeveloper is free for Testers. Developers Pay a onetime project fee of $5.00 USD (or an equivalent amount in other currencies), and a PayPal Processing Fee based on a percentage of escrow. Developers can fund their Project Channel with an amount ranging from $20.00 to $200.00 (USD). All Project Channel funding and Tester payments are conveniently made via PayPal.
