Princeton, New Jersey – ALK Technologies, the leading provider of navigation and GeoLogistics software, introduces “Motion Lock” to its family of CoPilot navigation applications to help minimize distracted driving. The feature is part of the new 9.5 version of the app, which also includes a refreshed user interface, iOS 7 compatibility and restyled app icons.
New Motion Lock for safe, hands free driving
CoPilot’s Motion Lock enables drivers to choose the minimum travel speed at which the map becomes locked for safer, hands-free driving. Speeds can be set at five, 10, 15 or 20 miles per hour.
“Adjusting your GPS system while driving can be distracting, so we are introducing Motion Lock to reduce driver interaction while on the move,” said David Quin, head of consumer applications at ALK Technologies. “Together with CoPilot’s clear map displays, accurate turn-by-turn voice guidance and fast automatic rerouting, Motion Lock helps drivers stay focused on the road while CoPilot directs them to their destination.”
Restyled and refreshed UI
CoPilot v9.5 also includes a restyled flat UI design and refreshed app icons for a clearer, simpler user experience. The restyled UI is available for all iOS apps. The app is now also fully compatible with iOS 7.
Additional CoPilot enhancements include:
* Improved in-app search to more easily find places near a destination;
* Highway exit numbers are now displayed on the map, giving drivers clearer guidance;
* Two striking new 3D and 2D map guidance styles
* Pioneer NavGate HUD Connector (in-app purchase, available in Europe only)
CoPilot v9.5 is available immediately as a free update for existing iOS users.
