Shanghai, China – For the first time, children can create science projects at home in Piiig Labs, but without the mess. The educational game app encourages kids to explore basic science concepts by putting together mini “kits” based on classic experiments such as the baking soda and vinegar reaction. Piiig Labs is suited for children aged 3 to 7 and integrates themes such as circuitry, chemical reaction and radio frequency by giving children a glimpse of the working components for complex objects.

“Piiig Labs encourages families to play and explore science together”, said Calvin Chin, Founder and CEO of Piiig. “Our goal is to inspire the next generation of science and electronics enthusiasts by encouraging and nurturing a desire to take it apart, see what it’s made of, and understand what makes it work.”

Piiig Labs was inspired by the Heathkits of the 1970’s, which provided all the parts needed to assemble electronic products such as the radio and oscilloscope. Similar to building a Heathkit, children assemble the Piiig science kits by dragging individual components into place like puzzle pieces. Once a kit has been completed, children can interact and play with the object much like in the real world. These kits vary from creating a light bulb circuit to building a Walkie Talkie that can chat with another device on the same Wi-Fi network (included in the next update).

Some features of Piiig Labs include:
* 6 interactive kits and 2 additional ones arriving before Christmas 2013
* A radio that can be assembled to tune to 5 different stations
* Colorful volcanic eruptions from mixing primary colors
* Wire circuits that can be turned on/off when connected with power source
* Child-friendly sounds for each assembly item to teach object recognition
* Badge boards to promote and capture learning achievements
* A “For Parents” section with guidance on using the app as a learning tool
