Chicago, Illinois – Davka Corporation has announced the release of Davka Hebrew Writer 1.0, a bi-directional Hebrew-English word processing app for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. Using Hebrew Writer, one can write in either Hebrew or English as the primary language, while still writing text from the other language in ‘push’ mode.
Davka Hebrew Writer includes ten Hebrew fonts, ranging from a traditional Torah-scroll script to modern and decorative styles, all of which can be used and formatted in a variety of different styles and colors. The Hebrew fonts are helpfully listed in a separate section of the font toolbar. Hebrew Writer includes the unique ‘Nikud Toolbar’, that allows users to enter the appropriate Hebrew vowel points that appear above and below the letters. This feature is especially useful for students studying Biblical texts, who need to write Hebrew with accurate vowel point entry. Davka Hebrew Writer can even automatically insert the correct Hebrew or English date into documents.
Davka Hebrew Writer integrates with iCloud, so that users can work with the same documents on multiple devices at different times. Files created with Davka Hebrew Writer may be exported to PDF, RTF, or text formats, and can be shared via email, Facebook, iMessage, or Twitter, as well as printed to Airprint-compatible printers. Files from other word processing programs may be exported in RTF or text format, and opened within Davka Hebrew Writer.
Davka Hebrew Writer is ideal for teachers and students who need to write in Hebrew and English, and its ability to add Hebrew vowel points makes it unique and valuable for those that need to write pointed Hebrew text.
