San Francisco, California – The podStatus Team today is thrilled to announce the worldwide release of podStatus 1.4.2, its iPhone music player app. podStatus is the very first to integrate with Instagram’s new video feature by allowing users to share song clips to Instagram (Facebook as well) for friends to listen. This marks the first music player app to take advantage of video features from apps like Instagram, Vine, and Snapchat.
Friends don’t even have to have the app downloaded to hear the shared song clips like they would for other apps that do not integrate with Instagram. Is this the new way Instagram users will experience music discovery, and perhaps Vine and Snapchat in the future? With Vine and Instagram becoming more popular for video features, the music experience is sure to evolve with the adoption of this technology.
What started as a simple sketch drawing, and idea for everyone to show friends what they listen to, has burgeoned into a unique innovation for iPhone music player apps. Pandora and Spotify may have a new friend to talk about other than each other since podStatus is obviously geared toward a more pleasant social experience for users. The app also makes song suggestions for the artists users listen to in the moment, establishing a new standard where users get refined song suggestions from their favorite artists as opposed to random songs they listen to.
