Brighton, United Kingdom – The original 1970s cartoon was voiced by the late Richard Briers and although much of the recording still exists, a creative decision was made to release the apps with a new tone. Fans of the original sound will still experience the iconic music and soundbites of Briers throughout the app.

Tamsin Greig – known for her zany characters in the popular comedies: Friday Night Dinner, Black Books and Green Wing plus the Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning show Episodes, also brings extensive drama, film, radio and award winning theatre roles to the project, making her a perfect fit for the Roobarb and Custard books.

Box of Frogs will launch 3 new appbooks that bring together original script, animations and interactive narratives with the new digital format. With the first book planned to coincide with Roobarb and Custard’s 40th anniversary celebrations Box of Frogs are delighted to be a part of such a high profile birthday!

“We are delighted to include Tamsin as part of our Roobarb & Custard family and look forward to working with her on this exciting new project,” says Adam Sharp, head of A&B TV.

Box of Frogs CEO Ben Simpson said of the appbooks “We are incredibly excited to be working on such an iconic brand; I watched and loved Roobarb and Custard as a boy and can’t wait to bring the digital stories to a new generation of fans,” says CEO Ben Simpson.
