Dallas, Texas – Today, Bxtel LLC announced the latest release of Nix Tinnitus Amp 2.0.1, its tinnitus treatment and personal sound amplifier app for iPhone and iPad. Tinnitus is most often an annoying ringing sensation that affects the hearing of up to 80% of all adults. Up to 5% of the adult population experiences chronic tinnitus, and the distraction of tinnitus severely impacts quality of life. Fortunately, there are a few ways to treat tinnitus, including white noise and notch therapy.

The first way Nix Tinnitus Amp can help with tinnitus is its white noise generator. The white noise can be turned on at any time to mask tinnitus. The second way the app treats tinnitus is with notch therapy. This works by listening to the iPhone microphone and then playing the sound in the headphones with the tinnitus pitch removed. Listening to sound without the tinnitus frequency helps the brain adjust to the tinnitus.

“After having surgery to repair an eardrum, I experienced very distracting tinnitus. I was able to make it feel better with Nix Tinnitus Amp’s white noise generator,” says Bxtel founder Ben Tyler. “Tinnitus has affected me, and I would like to help others with it. One of my friends, a combat veteran, alleviates his tinnitus with notch therapy.”

Nix Tinnitus Amp also functions as personal sound amplifier. It assists with hearing conversation or listening to the TV. Just point the iPhone’s microphone toward what you want to hear, and the app amplifies the sound heard in the headphones.
