Paris, France – Apple recently released its “Everything Changes with iPad campaign” in the United States. There is a great new film showing how the iPad has changed all of our lives, featuring Montessori Letter Sounds, an amazing phonics app published by French indie developer Edoki (founded by Montessori teachers). First released in early 2012, Montessori Letter Sounds remains a must-have for parents and teachers.

“This campaign showcases some of the fantastic app experiences available on iPad so we are very proud to be part of it,” declares Valerie Touze, co-founder of Edoki. “We have been publishing apps since 2010 and we regularly get emails from clients telling us how our apps have helped their child understand or learn a concept. This is the reason why we set up the company in the first place so it is obviously very nice to hear. Once we even had a father ask us to translate Montessori Letter Sounds to Italian for his autistic daughter!”

Montessori Letter Sounds offers over 100 words of vocabulary, 4 different games and a lot of fun letter tracing activities. It can be played in 5 languages: English, Spanish, French, Italian and German. More amazingly, this app offers a unique feature for children who want to learn another language. They can learn letter sounds in Spanish for instance but listen to the instructions in English. This means they are not dependent on an adult helping them, they gain in autonomy, an extraordinary self-confidence boost!

Based on sound games, this app teaches letter sounds using the Montessori Method. Children from the age of 3 can start by playing “I spy”. They can then move on to letter sounds (phonics) and even write their very own first words using a movable alphabet. This app is a must-have for all children between 4 and 7.

Edoki (formerly known as Les Trois Elles) was founded in 2010 by certified Montessori teachers. The company has been publishing quality educational apps for children ever since. The mission statement is strongly anchored in its teaching background: Empower children by making them active learners on mobile devices.

“As teachers, we want to ensure that children understand concepts rather than learn by heart. We believe that mobile technology is the revolution that will allow real adaptive learning in schools and at home. We add just the right amount of fun to increase motivation.”
