Murphy, Texas – Lighthouse Prep, a DFW based startup, today is proud to announce the release of Crowded Village 1.1, an important update to their popular educational app developed exclusively for iPad. Crowded Village is a quiz app for young children (ages 1-5) to have a customized learning experience through their mobile device. Through the app, parents can quickly create their own questions, unique to their culture, family or child. Or alternatively, choose from thousands of pre-loaded questions. Parents can provide an engaging learning experience while monitoring their progress.
Saundarya Shah, Co-founder of Crowded Village, says, “I came up with the idea for Crowded Village when I realized that although my son loved learning on the iPad, there weren’t many options for teaching him things that are unique to our family.” As an immigrant with limited time to spend with his kids each day, Shah wanted a way to monitor his son’s progress and introduce subjects that would not be covered by his son’s Montessori school.

Forty parents in Crowded Village’s private beta group have already used the app to teach their children language, religion, recognition of distant family members and more. Nikhil Virmani, one of the beta users explains, “I loaded the app with questions to identify foods and animals, but I asked the questions in my native language [Hindi] so my daughter could learn her mother tongue.”
Version 1.1 introduces a new design, featuring brighter colors, clearer icons and all around a much prettier app. It also includes a new analytics module for student’s score, as well as minor bug fixes.

Crowded Village 1.1 is Free (with in-app purchase) and available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Education category. Crowded Village contains no 3rd party advertising and does not provide any ability for an external party to contact your child.
