Wellington, New Zealand – Solesignal today is pleased to announce the release of SmartBackup 3.4, an update to their alternative backup and cloning utility for OS X. SmartBackup is a very easy to configure and lightweight backup application for OS X. SmartBackup syncs multiple source items efficiently to a destination on an external hard drive, flashdrive or network share. SmartBackup features a custom modern 64-bit sync engine built on the latest Apple technologies, and is optimised for fast analyse and copy speeds.
The new version (SmartBackup v3.4) brings an updated faster sync engine, interface and usability improvements, better support for OS X 10.10. and bugfixes.
SmartBackup supports archiving of deleted or changed files during each backup. The archive can be searched conveniently from within the application for all available versions of a file, and the required item can be restored easily with one click. SmartBackup also support creating and maintaining a bootable clone of an OS X installation. SmartBackup can be automated using iCal, Automator or via LaunchDaemons. For professional users SmartBackup also includes a commandline mode for integration in python or shell-scripts.
