San Francisco, California – SilverWiz today is pleased to announce the release of MileWiz 2.1, a major update to their popular automatic mileage tracker for iPhone. Designed for everyone driving their personal car for business purposes, MileWiz generates IRS-proof mileage logs, and helps claim tax deductions after qualifying miles. Traditionally people had to categorize each trip as business or personal. MileWiz 2 introduces automation that allows customers to predefine rules for automatic categorization making everything automatic.
Why Track Miles?
In an economy where more and more people become self employed, tracking miles has become an increasingly popular way to write money off your taxes. People who drive their personal car for business purposes can reduce their taxes for the business mileage. Driving 30 miles a day saves around $4500 per year.
Milewiz – Automatic Mileage Tracking:
MileWiz uses a proprietary technology that automatically detects when you drive. It automatically records all your trips. There is no need to hit a start/stop button, no need to connect it to your car. MileWiz uses data from the GPS, accelerometer and complex algorithms to determine when you start driving and when you complete a trip.
Traditionally people who use such software would then have to go into the software to categorize their trips as businesss or personal as they can only claim the business miles off their taxes. MileWiz 2 allows its users to configure pre-defined rules for automatic categorization, reducing the manual work needed to write mileage off your taxes, to a minimum.
Places:
MileWiz 2 introduced Places. Once you define the places you visit often, and set which ones of them are business related, MileWiz will momnitor your drives and whenever it detects you going to one of the predefined places, it will automatically log and categorize this trip appropriately and it will calculate your savings immediately.
Driver Work & Rest Schedule:
Another option available to all MileWiz customers is to configure work & rest schedule. The schedule can be as versatile as people need it to be and users are able set how MileWiz should automatically categorize drives that occur in specific hours of specific days of the week.
US, UK, CA, AU Tracking:
MileWiz 2 is optimized and pre-configured to support tracking for the USA, Canada, United Kingdom and Australia. It complies with the requirements and rates of the IRS, HMRC, CRA and ATO. Upon initial install MileWiz will automatically detect where you are and configure itself automatically with the proper tax rates and the conditions that apply to them and will make sure that your mileage reports meet all legal requirements.
