San Diego, California – Bubbl is proud to announce the launch of its local event discovery app for iPhone. Bubbl is a fresh take on local event discovery that’s built for the spontaneous and the ephemeral. It’s a live local activity map with crowd-sourced events to address the problem of “what do I do now?” The app is focusing on San Diego and the San Francisco Bay Area for the time being and plans to expand to other cities, soon providing access to difficult-to-discover happenings worldwide. Bubbl will begin displaying UC San Diego events this Fall as it aims to resonate with the ephemeral generation.

“I’m a Millennial. I plan as far ahead as where to eat dinner and when I walk out of the restaurant I think ‘OK, what’s next?,” says co-founder and CEO, Peter Butler. With Bubbl, users import public Facebook events automatically or can create their own “bubbls” inside the app (bubbls are app parlance for activities or events). Bubbls only display on the map for other users when the event is actually live and then vanish afterward. Social networking features include the ability to tag friends, engage in event-based chat, and get automatic notifications of friends’ activity.

Bubbl was founded in 2015 with the idea that there is a better way to find local activities spontaneously. From this idea grew a mobile app that changes the way users find and share activities with their social network and the world. Bubbl is available on iOS and in the App Store now.

Peter is a Product Manager living in the San Francisco Bay Area. Prior to Bubbl, he co-founded another tech company, and has worked in venture capital, entertainment, and technology.
