Nashville, Tennessee – Cancer effects us all. Everyone has a friend or family member they know that has been touched by the disease. On September 4th, app developers are going to do just a little bit to fight back.
Derek Clark, CEO of 30 South, just had his father diagnosed with cancer after already beating it twice. He said, “I wanted to think of a way to fight back against this terrible disease and find a way to direct more money to research than I could manage by myself. That’s where I got the idea to enlist other developers and also not just pick a set amount. The more apps we sell on the 4th, the more money will go to beating this awful disease.”
5 different developers have committed 34 apps to the cause. Every dime they bring in on September 4th will get donated to Stand Up 2 Cancer. If you want to help, consider supporting the apps and developers listed on App Devs Stand Up online and join us in the fight against cancer.
This is the first year for #AppDevsStandUp, but Derek Clark and 30 South plan to make it a yearly event. “It may not be the same cause each year, but giving back is something I think is important for us all. Having the chance to come together with other independent developers to raise more than we could individually is great. Each of us only have a limited amount of resources, so combining forces is a great way to really help a cause.”
