London, United Kingdom – Bouncly today is proud to announce the release and immediate availability of Jump-it 1.1, their new game title for iPad. Jump-it is an easy to pick up but quickly becomes pretty difficult as you progress through the levels, so don’t say we didn’t warn you! It’s an addictive little time waster, that also helps you sharpen your short-term memory skills using only basic numeracy – count number of cells to move based on current cell value.

The initial set-up of the game is simple. Users start on a 3×3 grid, 9 cells in total with each cell showing a numerical value that typically is between 1 and 3. Cookie, our game mascot is on the Start cell (top-left corner) and needs to get to the bone on the End cell (bottom-right corner) with your help.

The game challenges you to help Cookie move up, down, left or right with each move based on the value of your current cell. So, if the current cell value for example is 2 then you can move 2 cells in any direction in straight lines (note diagonal moves are not allowed). It’s pretty easy for smaller grid sizes in the Easy level pack, to visually work out the correct path from start to end, but becomes increasingly difficult when you progress up levels from Easy through Medium and to Hard level packs. Players need to successfully complete each game to unlock subsequent sub-levels with larger grids. When players complete all the games in the Easy (3×3 to 5×5) pack which is free to play, they can buy more packs via in-app purchase – Medium (6×6 to 8×8) and Hard (9×9 to 12×12), each with increasingly larger boards and more games.

The game algorithm generates only one unique-path for each game, that allows Cookie to get to the finish cell. It is easy to get off to a wrong start or wander away from the correct path as you’d need to make a decision every time you land on any cell as to which direction to go next. Each game is timed so there is pressure to complete the game before the clock runs out.

Solving the game visually without any aids gives you a significant sense of accomplishment. But don’t worry if the game becomes challenging as the size of grids increases with higher levels, there are several power-ups and cheats one can purchase to help make your quests easier.
