Paris, France – Manomaya SAS today is pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of Coach Guitar 2.0.1, an update to its visual guitar teaching app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. Coach Guitar is solely based on a visual method so users can learn how to play popular songs on their acoustic guitar without knowledge of either music theory or tablature. Coach Guitar includes songs for all levels of ability including Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced.
Each song is broken down into short video tutorials that include step-by-step instructions. Users learn the song by watching the highly detailed, high definition video clips that display the guitar neck, strings and fingering. There is also an animated fretboard to show the user correct fingering and which strings to strum. The black fretboard represents the guitar neck and colored dots represent each finger. To assist with the learning process, videos can be slowed down and looped.
“Personally, I enjoyed how the app presents the songs.” says Patrick Garde of iPadAppsReviewer (Dec. 1, 2013). “The videos are broken down into different sections from Intro to various Parts. As soon as the video plays, it also stops by design after every change of chords. It will give you much needed time to put it into practice before getting to the next one. If you are having a hard time, you can press the slow motion playback feature which will reduce the speed of the video. The app will show you where to place your fingers and which strings you need to strum. Whether you are a righty or a southpaw, you will easily learn to play the guitar with its video lessons and the ability to loop tutorials. Even if you can’t read music notes or guitar tabs, even if you are a beginner, you will be comfortable in no time. Plus, it’s definitely a lot cheaper than enrolling in personal guitar lessons.”
Feature Highlights:
* Step-by-step guitar training
* Redesigned interface for a better and smarter experience
* No previous knowledge of music theory or guitar tablature necessary
* Video lessons in HD
* Ability to view training videos in slow motion or loop
* Animated color-coded fretboard
* Backing track with voice
* Left-handed and right-handed views
* Structure and chords diagram
* Guitar tabs included
* Social integration with Facebook and ability to share progress with friends
* Songs for all levels including Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced
* Extensive guitar lesson library
* New songs added to the library each week
In addition to several bug fixes, version 2.0.1 includes a completely redesigned interface. Users can now browse lessons in the new library by filtering according to difficulty, date, top sales, and alphabetical. Coach Guitar allows users to unlock badges, reach new level skills and share progress with friends on Facebook. Additionally, the new activity feed shows what has been achieved in Coach Guitar.
“When I first started learning guitar a couple of years ago,” says Tucker Cummings of tapscape.com (Nov. 18, 2013), “I used a variety of apps to help me get my bearings. Almost all of the apps disappointed me, either because the quality of the lessons was low or because the interface was clumsy. Having tried so many other guitar teaching apps, I feel confident in saying that Coach Guitar is one of the best. You can see both right and left-handed orientations, there are tons of video lessons, and you can loop tutorials or view an animated, color-coded fretboard. You don’t need to be able to read music, or even read guitar tabs. Even the most beginner of beginners will feel right at home. Overall, Coach Guitar has a stellar interface. It is easy to use this app to build your skills and your musical confidence. With a large variety of popular and classic songs to review and a top-notch color-coding system for teaching correct hand positions, this app is a must-have for newbie guitar players.”
In the Coach Guitar library, users can purchase additional popular songs. Presently, there are over 70 selections with new songs added weekly. The library includes detailed information about each song and artist, a short audio clip of the song, and the level of difficulty.
“Coach Guitar is set up to feel more like a video game with multiple levels to be mastered,” says Boris Douarre, CEO of Manomaya SAS. “It is a very gratifying learning method since each lesson is broken down into smaller, achievable goals. More than a million people have downloaded Coach Guitar to learn how to play their favorite songs without music theory or guitar tabs.”
