Casting magic takes practice and precision, so let’s take a closer look at how the game works.

When you start Drawizard, you’ll be looking at three buttons. Here, you can jump right into the game or customize your wizard before you start. Regardless of what you envision as your ideal wizard, Drawizard will have a skin to your liking. There are over 20 wizards to choose from, and you can unlock them by playing the game or spending a bit of cash. From the winged Alzahr to the Medusa-inspired Innox, you’ll find plenty of variety in the selection.

Selecting the gem icon brings you to the game’s spell menu, where you can stock up on mana and unlock new spells. There’s six unique spells to unlock, and packs of mana you can purchase when you’re running low. These six spells allow for incredible magic powers, giving you a variety of powers and abilities. You start with Lightning, a spell that deals quite a bit of damage across all of the enemies in play. After playing the game for a little bit and amassing some gold, you can unlock Frost Nova, Heal, Protection, Push, and Weaken. These spells are pretty self explanatory, and can help you in a pinch. Healing is important when up against some of the game’s more difficult bosses, so choosing some buffs and debuffs at first will help you immensely. Once you’re geared up and ready to fight, selecting the play button will begin the game.

Drawizard is an easy game to learn but a difficult one to master. Your wizard takes center stage, as enemies pour in from all sides. Above the enemies’ heads are symbols that indicate their weakness. As enemies approach you, you can cast spells at them by drawing lines and symbols anywhere on your screen. Casting the right symbol will blast the corresponding enemy off the battlefield. If you fail to do this fast enough, you’ll find yourself losing health (in the form of hearts) quickly. As the waves progress, multiple symbols will start to appear, as well as treasure chests to unlock. You’ll soon find yourself casting symbol after symbol with speed and precision, slaying the hordes of magical beasts with ease. However, you’ll have to contest with boss monsters every five waves.

These bosses are unique and difficult to defeat; they’re good opponents to use your special spells on. Bosses aren’t pushovers either; these special enemies will trudge towards you with multiple symbols above their heads. Completing a full set of symbols will push them back, but players who are quick and accurate will eventually be able to stop them in their tracks. There’s five bosses to overcome, and you’ll need all the magical abilities you can collect to take them all down.

If you happen to be slain, you won’t have to return to the battlefield empty handed. Depending on how well you do, you’ll be award free gifts and prizes. These range from an excess of coins to a new wizard to play as. Coins help you unlock deadly new spells, so the more you fail the stronger you become. You’ll find yourself becoming a better player too, as you start recognizing symbol patterns. Elite players will be able to blast enemies into oblivion before they fully appear on screen, making you feel like the most powerful wizard in existence.
