Hsinchu, Taiwan – The camera on smart phones, getting more and more advanced by the day, has replaced other regular digital cameras to be the portable camera and video recorder of modern users. When you want to share what you take with your friends, you can use WhatsApp or Line to send photos, although the photo resolution is usually reduced. However, when it comes to sending videos, it’s not that easy. Recording with a common 8 mega-pixel camera produces about 70-80 MB in file size per minute. A clip of 5 minutes would need 300 to 400 MB – usually too big to send out using email. YouTube or Dropbox might be a solution, but it’s too cumbersome to use for most users. Now, eXpress2U can solve this problem for you. No matter how much video you take, you can transfer them out on your own.
Wenjoy Technologies, an Taiwan-based App software development company which previously released well-known apps that have been download for a combined total of million times – like “OrganiDoc” and “Organic Doc HD” for integrating cloud storage; “xDownload” for downloading videos anytime and anywhere; “shake2u” for Bluetooth/WiFi file sharing upon shaking mobile phones, has again launched a real-time file sharing app on the mobile platform – eXpress2U (X2U).
The major difference between eXpress2U and other general messaging apps (like WhatsApp, Line, WeChat) is that most messaging apps are chiefly for sending text and there are usually various restrictions on sending video. For example, Line only allows up to 1.5 minutes in video length, and the video is compressed. WhatsApp or WeChat has no limit on video length, but the video is highly compressed 70:1 or 80:1. Watching it on the small screen of the phone might be alright, but the resolution is less than acceptable if viewed on retina display or a PC/TV. Of course you might want to upload the video to YouTube, but your friends would only be able to view it on line and cannot save it to his own computer or mobile phone. For some people, Dropbox or Google Drive’s file sharing capabilities comes to mind. However, it’s usually too complicated for most users to use either file sharing or to send the link for the file. With eXpress2U, the phone number of the other party is all you need to send a file instantly. You can also see if the other party has started to download the file or if the download has finished.
Another powerful feature of X2U are brand new security mechanisms for protection. Generally, after a user sends out a file via email or other means, there is no way to control the spreading. X2U particularly adds in file protection mechanisms – be it either a file or a photo, you can choose “no protection,” “read-only protection,” “limited time reading” or “delete after reading.” “Read-only protection” means the receiver can only read the file within X2U, and cannot transfer the file to another app to edit, send via email, upload to a computer, or save the picture to Photo Album. “Limited time reading” sets a period of time after which the photo or file will be automatically destroyed, so that you can be worry-free about the information being further disclosed when you transfer confidential files. Importantly, unlike Dropbox or email, X2U never leaves any backup on the server and the files are encrypted in the whole process of transfer, allowing more security.
With X2U, the same mobile phone number can be used to register multiple iPhone or iPad devices. You can conveniently choose to use any of the registered devices to accept or transfer a file. As more and more users have multiple iPhone’s and iPad’s, there can be inconvenience when you need to transfer files among your own devices. X2U offers a considerate solution – simply install X2U on all devices and use the same phone number to register, you can transfer among the devices easily and the data flow is free of charge. Wenjoy Technologies has always been providing a variety of solutions for documents and files on the mobile platform. This time, with the new eXpress2U services, there is a complimentary capacity of 30 MB for trial usage. Receiving files is totally free. From now on, there are no worries about sending video files to friends. You can record as much as you want.
