Centennial, Colorado – Foothills Education today is proud to announce the release of Fact Mountain – CU Football 2.2, an update to their entertaining University of Colorado football trivia app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices. 2015 marks 125 years of football at the University of Colorado. To honor this historic occasion, CU has become the first college in the country with its own Fact Mountain app of football trivia.
The app honors Buffaloes history, from the University of Colorado’s first football team in 1890, all the way to their first national championship of 1990, and beyond. Users will learn trivia about coaches, the history of the football program, “The Catch” against Michigan in 1994, the Buffs home stadium Folsom Field, and even the Buffs mascot Ralphie. As an Officially Licensed Collegiate Product, a portion of the app’s purchase price goes directly to the University of Colorado’s athletic program.
“True CU fans will find that ‘Fact Mountain – CU Football’ is a must-have for their iOS device,” says Bryce Avery, creator of the app. “From the newbie jumping on the Buffs bandwagon, all the way to the alumni who remember every big event in team history, the app has something for every Buffs fan!”
The Fact Mountain app includes an informative “learn trivia” mode that allows study of all 500 clues and more than 300 hyperlinks. The “game” mode tests knowledge with harder clues that gradually get easier as needed, while the “flash card” mode offers game play with only the clues at a chosen level of difficulty, allowing users to quickly learn about the program’s history. Every correct answer allows players to climb a little higher on the “fact mountain” of Buffs football.
New Buffs fans will learn quickest by starting in the “flash card” mode with Flash Card set #1, which is the easiest. After they win the game at least twice, they can proceed to Flash Card set #2, #3, and so on. After mastering all sets through number 5, fans will be ready to alternate between the flash cards and the main game.
The “Learn Trivia” mode allows users to choose any answer and then study the 20 clues about that answer, ranked from hardest to easiest. The clues include handy hyperlinks to more sources of Buffs information, including exciting video highlights of past games.
Hardcore Buffs fans can try the higher flash card levels right away or even start with the game mode. Players who don’t know an answer can simply tap the “Enter” button to get an easier clue.
