Antwerp, Belgium – GriN today is pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of Forestpals Autumn 2.0 for iPad, an update to its autumn-themed educational adventure that includes learning games, puzzles, songs, and stories for kids ages 2 to 5. The app features Pixar-quality 3D graphics and animation, with original art by the award-winning children’s illustrator, Frieda Van Raevels. Both kids and adults will stare in amazement at the lifelike, animated movement of the six different, interactive forest animals, who gather food, play, party, draw, and help lift each other’s spirits.

Feature Highlights:
* Story with integrated games about autumn, a squirrel, a hare, and gathering nuts
* 6 separate mini-games
* Level progression system where every game has 9 difficulty levels that can be unlocked one-by-one
* Fun sing-a-long song as reward when finishing the story

A playful squirrel scampers through the forest amidst continuously falling leaves of red, yellow, orange, and brown. As the wind gently blows, the trees shed their leaves one by one, each circling downward to the earth. So begins Forestpals Autumn, as narrated by a professional voiceover artist with a majestic, basso voice. The squirrel runs across the screen with startling realism, each characteristic twitch and leap captured with uncanny verisimilitude. Even standing still, his quick breathing and the turning of his head in curiosity show that he is very much alive.

Following him as he runs from left to right, parallax scrolling (objects in front move faster than those in back) enhances the sense of depth created by multiple graphical layers. The forest is filled with nuts, and the squirrel is busily finding and eating them with enthusiasm. The story pauses, and the narrator asks, “Can you help the squirrel find the nuts he is looking for.” This is the completely integrated manner in which storytelling and learning are combined, interactively and without artifice. Kids touch the correct nuts on the ground, and the squirrel responds. As the story goes on, kids meet the hare, hedgehog, fox, bird, and deer, and at various plot points in the tale kids are asked to help the animals.

Forestpals Autumn includes six separate mini-games, including a counting game, cake decorating, painting, jigsaw puzzles, cutout puzzles, and a memory game. Each game has nine levels of play, which can be unlocked successively. Kids can view the complete story or just play the games. After decorating a 3D cake, rotating it to add candles and treats all the way around, children will delight in seeing their custom-designed dessert appear within the story, surrounded by all their favorite characters.
