Topeka, Kansas – In its newest version just released, GoodReader is introducing a “Speak” feature which turns any PDF or TXT document on an iPhone or iPad into an audio book. Now busy professionals, students or even those having trouble reading tiny text can listen to full documents or sections of documents in their preferred language, and with absolute control over the speed of how fast the text is read aloud and the language it’s read in.

With its new Text-to-Speech feature, GoodReader enables users to listen to full documents or sections of documents while they are driving or are otherwise occupied with other tasks. By simply pressing on a blank section of a PDF document, users are presented with a menu of options including the new Speak command. Tap on Speak and GoodReader will automatically begin reading the document. Volume, language and speed controls are also provided to easily tailor how loud and fast the app reads to you and in which language.

GoodReader is also able to read specific sections of a PDF document rather than the entire thing. The user simply needs to highlight the desired section and then click on Speak. GoodReader will begin reading at the beginning of the section and just read to the end of the highlighted area.

The Text-to-Speech feature includes full audio player-like controls, such as Pause, Resume, Skip and Rewind. To help users not lose their place, GoodReader highlights the words being read in real-time and a TXT document will auto-scroll to follow the speech.

Other new features added in the latest version include:
* Support for Drobox’s business accounts with a Single Sign-On (SSO) option
* Support for RTFD formatted documents.
* Several new bookmarking options, including an “Email Bookmarks” button which enables a user’s bookmarks summary to be generated and emailed, plus GoodReader now displays bookmarks in annotation summaries for PDF files and in Page Management view.

Beyond the updates in this new GoodReader version, the app was also recently updated to enhance the reading experience on the larger screens on the new Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones. Now users can both listen to their documents being read to them, or enjoy all the easy reading functionality of the world’s top-selling document reader optimized for the larger screens of the latest iPhones.
