Austin, Texas – Independent developer, Madeline Odom today is pleased to announce the release of Jet Journal 1.1, a new mobile application that combines social networking with travel experiences. Users are able to document their trips by creating and posting to journals. They can write entries, add photos, pin locations and save ideas. Users have unlimited options to customize their journals. They can add additional authors to a journal, allowing multiple people to create posts and share ideas, or they can keep a journal private for their personal use. Users can follow other travelers or search for places and pin them as ideas for a future vacation.

“Jet Journal is designed by travelers for travelers,” said Madeline Odom, founder of Jet Journal. “We’ve combined the features we use from other social applications into a single application focused on travel. Users are able to organize their trips, pin ideas, share experiences, get the information they need and follow friends, all from one app.”

Users are allowed to organize all their information about their trips into a single space. They choose a journal topic such as “Mexico Trip”, and it can contain photos and posts from a trip they are taking, a list of their favorite restaurants at that location, or ideas for things they want to do there. Users can custom tailor their journals according to their preferences. Jet Journal gives users a more detailed and accurate representation of the places they are visiting. Journals lets users thoroughly process and articulate their experiences giving others an authentic representation of travel destinations. Users don’t have to fumble between applications because all the information is available on one platform.

Jet Journal was recently accepted into the Schoolab incubator which partners with innovative projects and companies to support and guide entrepreneurs though training and mentorship.

While studying in Paris, traveling to new places, and gaining new experiences, the idea for Jet Journal became evident. CEO Madeline Odom wanted a place to share all of her experiences from her trips, look at her friends and other people’s trips, and create ideas for her next adventures. She felt there was a need to create a unique application combining social aspects with a travel network. Travel becomes lost on the main social platforms, and that’s the reason why we wanted to make this application into a reality.
