Alexandria, Virginia – Two high school students are changing the way you learn music.
Jack and Brian are two high school seniors at Gonzaga in DC, who founded PickupGuitarClub.com, an online school to teach guitar in a way never before seen. Their site combines the best of today’s technology with the joy of great music like Wagon Wheel, Ho Hey, Sweet Home Alabama, Semi-Charmed Life, and much more. These songs are taught through a game-inspired interface. It’s like playing Guitar Hero for real guitar.
Their note-recognition software listens as you play and keeps you on track. The intuitive note-visualizer makes it easier than ever to follow along with the music, and interactive video lessons add a human touch. Unlike other methods, no expensive accessories are required. PickupGuitarClub.com works with any acoustic or electric guitar, Mac, PC, or tablet. Best of all, from the very first lesson, you will know how to play a song your friends will want to hear.
These teenagers are not your ordinary high school students. Jack is a self-taught developer who built his own tablet at 12 years old, published his first iPhone app at 15 earning half a million downloads, and owned his own app company by 16. Brian is a multi-talented musician, self-taught in guitar, drums, bass guitar, piano, and has performed in front of audiences at some of the top music clubs. The two met their freshman year and have been playing music ever since. Now, they want to bring their passion for music to you.
As high school students, however, their funds are limited. This is why they have turned to Kickstarter to bring this product to life. The software has been created, the curriculum has been set, and the teachers have been selected. Now, Jack and Brian need your help to fund the last part. Starting April 5th, please make your pledge on Kickstarter to support these two local high school students. With your pledge, they will film the lessons, finish the website, and launch their product. In return, you will receive your selection of a year-long membership, a guitar, or a free dinner with the founders. For more information visit the website.
