Naperville, Illinois – Twocanoes Labs is changing how people attend meetings with its iBeacon-enabled Bleu Meetings conference service. Using an online service and their own line of iBeacon hardware called Bleu Station beacons, attendees use their smartphones for meeting check-in and information. Gone are the days when meeting attendees print out check-in information, directions, and an agenda to take to the meeting.

With Bleu Meetings, attendees tap a link to install a Passbook pass directly onto their smartphone (both iPhone and Android are supported). The attendees automatically receive updates right on the pass and are immediately notified of the changes. The Bleu Meetings conference service includes a free Bleu Station Beacon to enable the attendees’ pass to appear on the lock screen when they arrive at the venue, and directs attendees to the correct meeting room. The organizer uses the Bleu Meetings conference service to update the passes already installed on attendees’ smartphone, and to send notifications directly to the attendees lock screen for timely updates.

For an attendee of a meeting, getting meeting information is simple and modern. After registering for a meeting, a link in the confirmation email is received by the attendee. When the attendee taps the link from the invitation email, a meeting pass is installed from the Bleu Meetings conference service. The front of the pass contains all the critical meeting information, such as name, time, and location. The back of the pass may contain detailed information on the meeting, such as an agenda, list of speakers, or feedback links.

Once the attendee arrives the meeting and is near the beacon, the pass shows on their lock screen for easy reference and check-in via a barcode on the front of the pass (required for larger meetings). Once at the meeting, the attendees receive meeting notifications on their lock screen. The front and the back of the pass are updated with news and information throughout the day by the organizer.

For the organizer, Bleu Meetings makes it simple to keep participants up-to-date with meeting information. The organizer uses the Bleu Meetings service to create a customized pass that contains all the important information about the meeting. Each pass has a unique barcode for each attendee for quick and easy check in. The organizer updates existing passes installed on attendee phones by changing the pass information in the Bleu Meetings conference service. The changes are then automatically sent to all attendees. The organizer sends messages directly to the attendees lock screen for urgent updates.

The organizer can easily deploy Bleu Station beacons with the free Bleu Meetings iOS app (available on the App Store). The organizer plugs in the AC-powered beacon near the front of the venue, and the Bleu Meetings iOS app configures the beacon based on the meeting information in the Bleu Meetings conference service. The setup doesn’t require any technical knowledge to set up the beacon, and the organizer is assured that the beacon is sending out the correct information and.

The Bleu Meetings conference service has a free 30 day trial and comes with a free beacon that uses Apple’s iBeacon technology. After the first month, the service costs $4.99 per month. The free beacon also works with many of the free proximity apps from Twocanoes Labs. The Bleu Meetings conference service can be cancelled at any time. Sign-up is quick and easy at the Bleu Meetings website.
