Today, “Waay: Music theory that matters” launched for iPhone. Waay provides an applied, practical approach to learning music theory for songwriting. Similar to how other apps teach new languages, Waay uses a series of lessons and quizzes to teach the basics of music theory in a simple, fun and intuitive manner.

The first course (8 video lessons and 9 interactive exercises) is called “Melodies” and is included with purchase of the app. The second course, “Chords,” answers questions such as “What chords sound good together?” and is available as an in-app purchase. Additional courses are on the way.
