Berlin, Germany – People find apps and mobile games mostly through the appstores. But to search there for specific apps is disappointing, due to a lack of filters and tools to narrow down endless result lists.
Since November 2013 App Search engine Knicket is trying to solve this problem. The latest feature being added is the search especially for new apps. In all categories apps now are marked for being younger than two weeks. That makes it easy to spot the latest games and apps in any genre. Also search terms like “new puzzle apps” will bring up the new games of this genre first. Knicket is the first engine that allows this kind of sorting besides many other filters like the priceslider, the minimum rating filter, the in-app-purchase filter and the appmesh.
Another new feature is to add videos for apps. Developers just need to send the youtube ID of their chosen video (the row of characters and digits at the end of the Youtube URL) and the Knicket code of their own app (the row of characters and digits of the URL between “details/” and “/”iphone”) to the contact mail adress of knicket and the video(s) will be added. It´s possible to submit more than one video – so video reviews, gameplay videos or walkthroughs are all appreciated and can be added. The videos must come directly from developers for their own apps though.
Also comments are now enabled for everyone and every app listed at Knicket. The widget is driven by facebook and connected with it.
