Nuremberg, Germany – LogiTales is pleased to announce the release of Zala and the Treasure Cave, their first children’s storybook app for iPad. Combining 3D animated film sequences and educational games for children ages 4-6, the app was just nominated to Tommi, The German Children’s Award. Former filmmakers and 3D animators with no development experience used Kwik to develop Zala and the Treasure Cave.
Zala and the Treasure Cave invites children to participate in Zala and her friends’ adventures through learning games, which are seamlessly woven between animation shorts to narrate the story. Families can relax and immerse themselves in the book, which does not contain any advertisements, in-app purchase items, or links to outside web sites. The app already has been awarded Corona Labs’ App of the Week and Kwiksher’s App of the Month honors.
With decades of experience in film and 3D animation but none in app development, the LogiTales creative studio built Zala and the Treasure Cave app by using Kwik, a Photoshop plugin which allow anyone to design mobile apps from inside Adobe’s image editor. Founded in 2011, Kwiksher is a Florida-based, independent software company. Based in a strong blend of design and development skills, Kwiksher’s mission is to craft elegant, easy-to-use applications for the iOS and Android platforms.
Without Kwik I could never have realized Zala because none of us had any experience in coding, said Nuriza Kramer, creative director at LogiTales. Kwik allowed us to bring our vision to life by utilizing skills that we already possessed. So, none of our experience went to waste!
The makers of Kwik took notice of Zala after seeing LogiTales’ unprecedented execution with the plugin. The LogiTales team has crafted a wonderful story with beautiful 3D characters and interactions never done before with Kwik, said Alex Souza, CEO of Kwiksher and creator of the Kwik plugin. If their small team achieved that perfection in such little time, I can’t imagine what they will bring with their next title.
