Tel Aviv, Israel – RedleX is proud to announce the release of Mellel 3.3, an update to their sophisticated, time-tested and reliable word processor for Mac OS X. Mellel was especially designed to handle long and complicated documents, books, manuscripts, dissertations, and more. Released February 5, 2014, version 3.3 adds a comments feature, re-designed Find and Replace, and enhances its powerful Find Action and Find Set features.
Mellel 3.3 implements a comments feature in a smooth, straightforward manner: Just click the Comments button in the Toolbar, and the Annotations bar will open, and a new comment will be added. The new feature enhances Mellel’s collaboration abilities and allows adding, deleting, editing, styling, exporting, and browsing comments. You can also delete comments in a selection, and control the display of name and date stamp for the comment.
Another exciting feature in Mellel 3.3 is a revamped Find and Replace feature. The new Find appears as a pane at the bottom of the work window, allowing access to all the find features in a compact form, including character attributes search and replace, searching in various parts or elements of the document, setting search preferences (e.g., whole words or ignoring case), and a RegEx-like macro options. The new Find also makes it easy to save Find Expressions and Find Actions, and offers access to recent searches.
The most exciting enhancement to Mellel is, perhaps, the re-designed and expended Find Set feature. Find Actions in Mellel are encapsulated Find and Replace setups. Those can be arranged in Find Sets, a unique feature of Mellel in the word-processing world, to run tens or hundereds of searches with one click.
The New Find Set dialogue is conveniently organised in a columns, iTunes-like layout, allowing easy creation, organising, and running of Find Actions and Find Sets. Every Find Set is displayed in the rightmost column, allowing a user to edit it, save it, add a comment, and test-run it. An actions log allows tracking performance of the various Find Actions. To further enhance usability, Find Sets can be exported, to be utilised by other users of Mellel.
