Pfaeffikon, Switzerland – Pilcrow AG today is proud to announce the release of Movie Player+ for Apple TV, an app that allows uploading movies from external devices to Apple TV via WiFi and saving them on Apple TV. Movie Player+ supports 4k videos as well as many different file formats, such as wmv, flv, mp4, avi, 3GP and more. More or less any device can serve as external source, as long as it is able to connect via WiFi. Movie Player+ for Apple TV supports the following file formats among others:
* mp4
* flv
* avi
* mpg
* mov
* mpeg
* M4A
* 3gp
* wmv
According to Pilcrow there is no limitation to iOS devices or devices running OS X. “We wanted to ofer a movie player that does not only support as many different movie file formats as possible, we also wanted to have the possibility to watch movies that are stored on various devices, explained Christian Schaffner, general manager at Pfaeffikon Pilcrow AG. “Movies are often saved on various devices, depending on the situation that was given when the movie was saved. All of our team know from our own experience that data that is not sensible – which I believe is the case for a movie – has the tendency to spread to various platforms. I myself have movie files saved on my iPhone, my iPad, a notebook, a MacBook and my Desktop PC. Of course they are all recorded in different file formats. We found it limiting to not be able to use these files all on the Apple TV, and Movie Player+ is our solution for this.”
Pricing and Availability:
Movie Player+ is available in the Apple TV App Store in the Photo and Video Category for $1.99 (USD) or similar amount in foreign currency and is compatible with Apple TV.
