Clearwater, Florida – You are 23 times more likely to get into an accident while texting. 20% of fatalities from distraction-related accidents are caused by smartphones. More than 30% of young adult drivers admit to regularly texting while driving. While such statistics have driven 37 states to ban texting while driving, it has inspired iSimple(R), to develop a revolutionary new car kit called InSeam(TM) that allows a driver to enjoy streaming audio and the safety of hands-free calling through his/her vehicle’s sound system. Even more exciting, the InSeam allows you to do all this, plus send text messages, update social media status, launch apps and more with your steering wheel buttons using Siri on your iPhone, or the personal assistant/voice recognition (VR) software on an Android smartphone.
Named an Innovations Award winner at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show, the recently-released InSeam (ISFM2201) adds a hands-free Bluetooth connection to virtually any factory or aftermarket car stereo, offering seamless, wireless integration of a smartphone through the radio. Once installed (iSimple strongly recommends professional installation) the InSeam offers high-quality audio playback and crystal clear calling, and allows you to manipulate your device without taking your hands off the steering wheel. Additionally, a steering wheel control button becomes designated as a hands-free personal assistant control that launches the voice recognition program on your iOS or Android smartphone. Via your phone’s VR app – specifically Siri on the iPhone, S-Voice on Galaxy phones, and Google Now on other Android devices – you can have text messages read to you, reply to text messages, launch navigation or music apps, update social media status and much, much more.
Additionally, the InSeam has a companion App (available for free in the App Store and on Google Play) that helps with setup of the InSeam, as well as activates features that further promote driver safety. When running, the InSeam App walks you through finding the best frequency for the InSeam to use for music, phone calls and navigation, as well as pairing devices via Bluetooth. Then, the InSeam App can be set-up to block text messages once it detects the vehicle moving at a predetermined speed.
According to Ron Freeman, President and CEO of iSimple parent company AAMP of America, “We here at iSimple know that distracted driving is a big issue. As the in-car connectivity experts, we set out to create an affordable and easy-to-use system that helps people safely access everything their smartphone has to offer while on the go. The result of this effort is the InSeam – a product we are extremely excited about because of how much flexibility and freedom it offers drivers…especially younger drivers… while helping keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel.”
To show how easy and intuitive the InSeam is to use, iSimple has launched a special educational web portal that features a demonstration video, an overview of the product, an application finder, a FAQ page and a dealer locator. The InSeam has a MSRP of $189.95 and is currently available from iSimple and car audio retailers nationwide.
