Kiev, Ukraine – Indie game development studio Room 8 – having already made a career of publishing acclaimed games onto the App Store and Google Play – is excited to announce the nomination of the studio’s hit title, Piano City – Spring Music Festival, for Best Mobile/ Tablet Game of Year & Best Casual Game of the Year at Game Connection America 2015. Newly updated to celebrate the Chinese New Year and offering dozens of new challenges, quests, compositions and a new in-game mentor, Piano City – Spring Music Festival builds on the Piano City saga. The game mixes engaging piano-based gameplay, social features, immersing storyline and a bigger world to discover than ever before.
Game Connection America 2015 – one of the gaming world’s premiere conventions – is set to open its doors March 2nd – 5th in San Francisco and the annual events’ gaming awards are always a highlight. Piano City – Spring Music Festival faced tough competition to be nominated along with 2014’s other stand out mobile titles and Room 8 couldn’t be more pleased as the game managed to accomplish this difficult task not once but twice.
Piano City’s journey as a unique mix of music, gaming and an open world premise that encouraged players to meet characters and hone talent en route to becoming bona fide rockstars – wasn’t a one step process. The Room 8 team has released upwards of three different game versions and countless updates to perfect their vision, and the hard work has seemed to pay off.
Created for app junkies that are as much into jamming out as they are into immersive mobile gaming action, Piano City – Spring Music festival turns playing the piano into a quest fit for a fantasy epic – all while giving gamers the option of rocking out to everything from classical melodies to modern hits from One Republic, SIA, Maroon 5 and Imagine Dragons amongst dozens of others.
The game features over 600 different quests to keep players learning, while true-to-life controls mean that they’ll be getting a feel for the real thing should they decide to take their piano playing into the real world. Mini games, interactive leaderboards and endless play are all added in for good measure as well. Taken together, Piano City – Spring Music Festival is a vast mobile gaming arena. Will Game Connection’s jury agree? We’ll find out soon enough.
