London, United Kingdom – Pixelmator Team today is pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of Pixelmator for iOS 2.1, a major update to its full-featured, powerful, and fast image editor for iPad and iPhone. Version 2.1 adds support for iOS 9, multitasking on iPad via Split View and Slide Over, ability to open and edit 8K resolution images, and more.
“Pixelmator always takes advantage of the latest iOS features and technologies, and today we’re thrilled to bring Pixelmator for iOS 2.1, which includes full support for iOS 9, 8K image support, and the ability for iPad users to work in Pixelmator and any other app at the same time with Split View and Slide Over.” said Aidas Dailide, one of the founders of the Pixelmator Team. “With the new features in Pixelmator for iOS, it is even easier and more fun to edit images on the go.”
Pixelmator for iOS now works seamlessly on iOS 9 and takes full advantage of its latest features and technologies. With support for the new Open in Place feature, Pixelmator for iOS 2.1 allows you to open Pixelmator images from anywhere you want and save the changes you make in the exact same place. This means you can have all of your most recent edits in the same document. With Save to Photos, you can now open an image from Photos, edit it and save it back onto the same image, without creating a copy. Pixelmator for iOS 2.1 also adds the ability to use Spotlight to quickly find your Pixelmator documents.
Multitasking support allows you to work with Pixelmator for iPad and any other app simultaneously. Slide Over lets you quickly open a second app without leaving Pixelmator, then slide the app away to get back to editing your image. Split View allows you to work with Pixelmator and any other app both at the same time, side-by-side. In addition to Slide Over and Split View, you can now enjoy the new Picture in Picture feature and edit your image while watching a movie or video chatting.
In addition to iOS 9 support and multitasking on iPad, Pixelmator for iOS 2.1 now allows you to open and edit incredibly large, stunning-quality 8K resolution images. This means that professional photographers can use Pixelmator to edit photos of up to 64 megapixels right on the go, on iPad or iPhone alike.
