Perg, Austria – Ergonis Software today released PopChar X 7.7, an improved version of the company’s award-winning tool for finding and inserting special characters and exploring fonts. PopChar X 7.7 is scheduled to be the last maintenance release for PopChar 7, while Ergonis is already preparing to release the major new version PopChar 8 later this year.
PopChar X 7.7 offers metrics adjustments for 8 new fonts, in particular some of Google’s Noto fonts. The new version comes with an improved technique for removing relics of previous updates, fixes a potential crash in the construction of the layout menu, and includes fixes and workarounds for user-reported issues to improve overall stability and compatibility with third-party applications. Ergonis Software is also already preparing for the next major version, PopChar 8, which will – among other features – allow users to create their own custom layouts of special characters and arrange them as needed. All PopChar X purchases (new and upgrades alike) made now already include the major upgrade to PopChar X 8.0 and all subsequent 8.x upgrades.
