Pfaeffikon, Switzerland – Power APP AG today is proud to announce the release and immediate availability of Bodyguard 1.0.0, its new motion detection app developed for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. Bodyguard was developed specifically to use your iPhone’s camera for area surveillance. The app triggers an alarm as soon as the device’s camera detects any movement in the area it is tracking. The function of the app is based on Power APP’s motion detection algorithm that is already in-use in other apps developed by the company.
After placing an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, the app can be started and immediately starts to track everything that is in the cameras line of sight. If movement is detected in this area, an alarm is triggered. Images from the camera are sent immediately to your e-mail address or to an alternative iPhone. Bodyguard is also triggered when the connector loses power or in case of a network loss.
Asked for the motivation to create the Bodyguard app Christian Schaffner, GM of Power APP explained: “The Bodyguard app was originally meant as a joke from a friend of mine. He tried our app Wake Me Up, and told us that he needs the opposite. He wanted an app that alerts him when his boss is closing in to his office when he is taking a nap. We found that there are other uses for such an app as well. Watching the entrance of your house while you are at work, using it as a baby phone, or any other occasion where you would like to be informed about what’s happening at a remote area. With the release of the iPhone 6 we all had old iPhones that we didn’t really need anymore. We figured that we are not the only one and gave this app a go, so that we have a use for our old iPhones.”
