Valdivia, Chile – QotoQot introduces Qbserve, an automatic private time tracker for Mac OS X. There are many time management tools on the market and some of them have really great features for teams. But the goal of Qbserve is to be the most powerful productivity app for individual users like freelance developers, designers, artists, writers, and many other self-employed independent professionals.
Qbserve solves one of the main problems of time tracking software: it can differentiate between chats of popular messaging apps – Skype, Slack, and Telegram. This is especially useful for remote workers because they can log the hours of communication with their teammates separately from the time spent chatting.
For the same reason, YouTube videos and Reddit forums (subreddits) are also tracked separately so that users can assign work or study related videos to correct categories, and their productivity stats will not be impacted. Additionally there are other controls to customize time recording for personal workstyles: setting weekdays and time periods to track, pause, or ignore specific sites, applications, or windows.
Tracking is not the only purpose of time management tools; the other one is staying focused and motivated. Qbserve approaches this with instant feedback on user’s actions. Its dock and menu bar icons change colors dynamically to highlight the current productivity in real time. Users can also set alerts to notify them when they are reaching their goals or spending too much time on distractions, and compare performance between days, weeks, and months.
Qbserve even tries to assist in maintaining work/life balance with the ability to set regular reminders for repeating activities, like taking breaks, stretching, exercising, or being mindful.
In addition to all these features, Qbserve is completely secure. Unlike many popular time trackers it works offline, doesn’t require registration, and keeps all the tracked information on the user’s machine. It may ask to submit unrecognized sites and apps anonymously, so that they can be added for all users in future releases, but these requests can be easily disabled in settings.
