Wichita, Kansas – QuickerTek, the technology leader in mobile power and wireless networking for Apple computers, has posted updated software for its AcNano and AcQuicky USB Wifi devices for older Apple MacBooks to take advantage of the latest wireless technology. A simple USB device produced by this company allows older Mac’s to have the same quicker 802.11ac networking which is built into the latest Mac’s.
The reason for the effectiveness of the 802.11ac WiFi technology is the latest specification has an expected multi-station WLAN throughput of up to 1 gigabit per second and a single link throughput of at least 500 megabits per second (500 Mbps). Consequently, 802.11n is now half as fast as the new 802.11ac networking standard.
The new Yosemite 10.10 driver software works with all of the popular wireless network equipment including wireless access points from Dlink, NetGear and many others.
“With release of this software, m and qCard as well as upcoming products for all Mac’s running Yosemite Mac’s everywhere can have faster and longer range wifi.,” explained Rick Estes, president of Wichita based QuickerTek. “It’s easy to install, easy to stay current with drivers and works everywhere.”
