Hollywood, California – The Los Angeles Creative Pro User Group (lacpug) have announced that Randy Ubillos will appear at lacpug, Wednesday May 27, 2015 at the Gallery Theatre, Barnsdall Art Park in Hollywood, CA. beginning at 6:45PM. Ubillos recently retired from Apple after twenty years. In that time he was Chief Architect on a wide range of products such as Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Pro X, Aperture, iMovie ’08 through ’11 and iPhoto for iOS. In addition, Randy also created versions 1 through 4.2 of Adobe Premiere Pro.

“We are so honored to have Randy appear at lacpug,” says Michael Horton, the current head of lacpug. “Randy is too humble to admit this, but he fundamentally changed the way we all tell visual stories. He changed the world’s Post Production industry. Entire industries have grown up around what he has created. He has had a heck of a career and we are very grateful he has accepted our invitation.”

Randy will speak about his own moviemaking experiences and the power of video to inspire and document our lives. He will also provide tips and tricks for making your own movies.

In addition to Randy, Matt Geller will will be giving us the West Coast Debut of KeyFlow Pro, available this summer in the App Store. KeyFlow Pro allows small collaborative groups to organize, process and share media over small networks without the use of shared storage or costly infrastructure.

Also, actress and filmmaker Mare Costello will be showing clips from her recently completed feature “The Syriana Tate Interview,” as well as, discussing what it was like editing her first full length non-scripted comedy while producing, directing and performing the main character.

The doors to the Gallery Theatre will open at 6:00PM for networking, and then a Q&A session called “Stump The Gurus” featuring Monica Daniel, Kylee Wall, Adam Bedford and Randy Ubillos will begin at 6:45PM. This is a chance for all filmmakers to get all their problems solved with any editing system they are currently using. Rounding out the evening will be the always fun, World Famous Raffle.

Registration for this event is free, but you will be asked for a donation of $5.00 at the door. For more information as well as a link to where to register, go to the lacpug web site.
