Saint Paul, Minnesota – Scan to Spreadsheet, a popular iPhone app for inventory an attendance tracking, has recently been updated to version 3.0. This new version includes; templates to manage column names, spreadsheet scan settings, GPS coordinates on scan to track barcode records geographically, and most importantly a new barcode scanner with increased performance and capabilities.

Tracking attendance, conducting year end Inventory, and logging trade show booth visitor information has never been easier. Scan to Spreadsheet, recently updated to version 3.0, does all those tasks and more. Scan to Spreadsheet does exactly what its title implies. Using your iPhone, iPad or iPod; barcode scan to a list that you can then export from your device as a spreadsheet. Spreadsheets that can be imported into accounting or marketing software with records you have created.

Features of 3.0 are numerous:
The most important one is a new barcode scanner. The previous barcode scanner in Scan to Spreadsheet has limitations in performance. The new 3.0 barcode scanner is part of iOS 7 and supported by Apple. Taking advantage of this new barcode scanning technology has vastly improved the performance of the scanner. Coupled with the iSight camera in newer Apple devices, the scanner can read the smallest of barcodes, even in low light conditions.

We’ve increased to 20 columns. Customer requests for more data have been met with this enhancements

GPS coordinates on scan:
With each barcode scan, you’ll have the GPS location of the location when you added the row to the spreadsheet. A map has been included in Scan to Spreadsheet that drops pins on all scanned locations

Spreadsheet Templates:
Spreadsheet Templates is another requested feature we have included. You can setup column names and other properties of a spreadsheet. Now when you create a new spreadsheet you can reuse these settings.

Keypad input options are available:
When setting up a column you can change the data input from the Qwerty keypad to a numeric keypad. This is great for entering quantities.

Parse a barcode on scan:
Have a lot of information in 1 barcode? Now with Scan to Spreadsheet 3.0 you can have these values separated into different columns the instant the barcode is read. A good example is driver’s licenses or trade show badges. Names, phone number, email addresses are typically separated by a common character, such as a comma, pipe |, caret ^, or other symbol. When the barcode is read, these symbols are found and the information is separated to each column. You can set whatever delimiter you need in the properties of the spreadsheet.
