Wellington, New Zealand – shinywhitebox today is pleased to announce the closed beta for iShowU Studio, their next major screen casting solution for OS X. Available on MacDeveloper, iShowU Studio focuses on providing simplified post-recording editing and publishing of captured footage. iShowU Studio is specifically geared towards the consumer and beginner prosumer market.

iShowU Studio shares several of the same features of the popular iShowU HD and iShowU Pro applications, including ease-of-use, camera capture, and upload services to YouTube and Vimeo. iShowU Studio also includes a full colour correction pipeline from import through to export, hardware accelerated H264 recording for Mavericks OS X, and many other useful tools. Although additional features will be revealed by the company over the next few weeks, iShowU Studio will support the following features at launch:

* Full screen editing UI (optional at user’s discretion)
* Optional capture of camera while recording
* Capture of up to two audio streams
* Capture of mouse and key press events
* Track-based editor that allows clip arranging
* Easy trimming of entire composition and segments
* Ability to drop shapes at any point in time over the composition
* Easy ripple-delete
* Super easy Pan/zoom tool
* Ability to add further media
* Media manager
* Freeze framing
* Publication history
* Collections
* Ability to export in 480p, 540p, 720p or 1080p

According to Neil Clayton of shinywhitebox, one of the more exciting additions in iShowU Studio is Freeze Frame capability. “Freeze frame is usually a multi-part process, including addition of the frozen frame, recording of new audio, and setting up of various opacity and audio ramps.” explained Clayton. “Well, in iShowU Studio, this is one single operation. Users just click the Add Audio tool and start recording. When it’s done, iShowU Studio will create the frozen frame, insert this with the same duration as the recorded audio, and create audio ramps between the new and existing audio.”

During the month of December, beta-testers for iShowU Studio can register with MacDeveloper, an opt-in service for testers which helps companies and individual software developers improve the quality of their products by providing a platform to have their applications properly tested from a well informed, and energetic Beta Pool.

“We’ve put our own spin on full screen-capture and editing in iShowU Studio and think users will find some of the features fantastic,” adds Clayton. “We will be running the beta through MacDeveloper. If you’ve an account there, please feel free to subscribe on our Project Channel!”
