Coral Springs, Florida – ElmerApps today is proud to announce the release of Shooty Ship 1.11, an important update to their retro arcade game app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. In Shooty Ship, players go back to the future in this exciting return to the thrilling arcade games of the past. The mission: Attack the enemy space outpost on Saturn’s moon of Titan. But beware, the outpost is heavily protected by flying saucers, tracking drones, guard towers, missile launchers and ghost ships.
Shooty Ship offers a familiar, yet fresh challenge, and brings back the most exciting aspects of classic video game shooters to iOS gamers of all ages. Younger players will find themselves challenged by the fast moving action. Older players will be transported back to the arcade game-playing days of their youth, as they fed “just one more quarter” into the Defender video game machine to try to set the high score. All players will enjoy the fast moving action and exciting sound effects.
“I must admit, I have always been a fan of the classic video games from the 1980’s and 1990’s,” says ElmerApps founder Robert Mandelbaum. “When I began developing Shooty Ship, my goal was to bring that classic, ‘Let me play just one more time’ excitement to today’s mobile game-playing public. I believe I’ve accomplished that. By combining the best of classic video games, with the power of today’s mobile devices, I’ve created an extremely addictive game that will have players coming back for ‘just one more game!'”
Features:
* Fast moving retro arcade action
* Younger players will enjoy the fast moving action
* Older players will enjoy the classic Defender-like gameplay
* Game Center integration tracks achievements
* Power-ups and shields help defend the ship
* Arcade Mode and Mission Mode both offer exciting action
Shooty Ship challenges players with two exciting modes. Arcade Mode allows players to go for the highest score, by dodging enemy fire and shooting everything in sight. Mission Mode adds exciting achievement-based action in which the pilots must fly missions in order to earn military rankings. Either mode will keep players in a frenzy, as they attempt to shoot enemy combatants while dodging a barrage of oncoming missiles and bombs.
Shooty Ship isn’t all just slide and shoot, as players will find plenty of power-ups to help them fight their way through wave after wave of enemy fire as they fight to destroy the enemy’s space outpost. Players can grab shields to protect their ship from enemy fire, as well as power up with triple laser fire to blast multiple enemies at once. Make sure to grab the power-ups when they’re available, as there might not be a chance to pick them up them later!
Shooty Ship’s Game Center integration offers players the chance to post their scores and achievements for everyone to see. Skilled players can set the highest score to sit atop the scoreboard, or earn military rankings to post in Game Center. Players can also brag about their scores, and challenge friends and family via Shooty Ship’s Facebook and Twitter integration. Version 1.11 of the game fixes a number of minor bugs.
