Seattle, Washington – Seattle’s own boutique fun factory, Delicious 62 today is proud to announce Snapling 1.0, the world’s first iOS geolocation-based photographic scavenger hunt game. Players score points by planting Snaplings, successfully branching other player’s Snaplings, and sharing via social media. Players earn badges, check out the top players, and more.

Players start the game by snapping a photo in any location, called planting a Snapling in the game. Players can then find Snaplings and score points by accurately matching the original photo, called branching a Snapling. The Snapling camera features accelerometer and compass alignment guides, as well as on overlay of the original photo to help players line-up and match the source photo. The better the photos match, the more points a player scores.

Players also score points for every branch created from their Snapling. The more popular a Snapling is with other players, the more points the original Snapling planter scores. Players can also challenge their friends via Twitter, Email, Facebook or SMS to score sharing points.

Players can see all of the Snaplings planted nearby via GPS. When a Snapling is planted, its geolocation is stored. Snaplings have to be planted with a certain distance of each other, allowing players to claim territories around the world. If a player wants to find other Snaplings to create new branches, they can wander an area and get direction and distance guidance from the app.
