Oakland, California – Mission: Pic, LLC is proud to announce the release of Mission: Pic 1.9, an update to their popular social photography app developed for iOS devices. Mission: Pic turns mobile photography into a community based game. Every day a new mission is revealed that will challenge you to be creative and look at the world in a new and interesting way. Players then vote on each other’s submissions, creating an ever-evolving leaderboard of popular photos.
Thanks to the social game layer and a Tinder style swipe-to-vote UI, the community gets to vote awesome photos up, less impressive ones down or swipe left to pass. At the end of the day you end up with a leaderboard full of awesome photography around a given theme.
For example, if today’s mission is “Metal,” players might submit a close-up of an aluminum can, a well-framed escalator or a shot from the crowd at an AC/DC concert. But rest assured, the best photo will win the day and one talented mobile photographer will walk away with pride, glory, and an 8×8 print of their winning photo embossed with the official Mission: Pic 1st place seal. So far winners have hailed from as far as Australia, Norway, France, England, Japan and all over the US!
“I’m very proud of the community that’s gathered around Mission: Pic,” explains Brett Rounsaville, founder of Oakland based Mission: Pic, LLC. “We have an awesome worldwide group of users who love to be challenged every day, but more importantly, love learning from and supporting each other. With this newest update our goal is to make it even easier to find and grow the connections folks are already used to making here.”
