Sausalito, California – Audio technology company, Soundness is pleased to announce availability of version 4 of the award-winning SoundSoap audio noise reduction software for Mac and Windows. SoundSoap 4 solves audio noise problems like unwanted hiss and background noises, clicks, pops, crackles, electrical hum, rumble, clipping, and low volume. SoundSoap is used by hundreds of thousands of consumers and professionals worldwide to create stunning audio for their video and audio projects. This new version of the venerable SoundSoap software adds several important new features.
SoundSoap is so easy to use that even average consumers can use it to fix audio noise problems, without requiring any audio expertise. SoundSoap is ideal for anyone creating videos, screencasts, podcasts, LP restoration, music, or dialogue. SoundSoap 4 works as a standalone application or as an audio software plug-in for use in popular applications like GarageBand, ProTools, Logic X, Premiere, Sonar, Audition, Digital Performer, and Final Cut Pro X. The SoundSoap standalone application also makes a perfect companion for iMovie, iPhoto, Premiere, Skype, or any other audiovisual software.
“We are thrilled to introduce these amazing new noise reduction features in SoundSoap 4”, said Steve Berkley, Founding Member of Soundness LLC. “We’ve added a brilliant new Declipper, a Volume Maximizer, an Envelope-controlled Noise Reduction mode, and other features to SoundSoap, while keeping it simple enough for anyone to use.”
SoundSoap 4’s new Declipping feature automatically fixes distortion on audio that was recorded too loud, using an advanced digital signal processing algorithm to detect and restore clipped audio signals. SoundSoap 4’s Declipper produces stunning restorations of clipped audio. SoundSoap 4 now features an advanced loudness maximizer to intelligently boost the volume of audio tracks that are too quiet. SoundSoap’s digital signal processing algorithms increase the loudness of the audio without introducing distortion.
SoundSoap 4 also includes a new feature called Track that automatically reduces the amount of noise reduction on louder sections of the audio material, effectively increasing the amount of noise reduction that can be applied. It is like having an audio mastering engineer riding the noise reduction controls. SoundSoap 4 now saves WAVE and AIFF files in 24-bit format for pristine audio quality (Mac). SoundSoap 4 features a large parameter value display and a navigable waveform display when working with audio-only media sources.
SoundSoap 4 works as a standalone application and as Audio Unit, VST, and AAX audio plug-ins. The SoundSoap 4 plug-ins require Mac OS 10.6 or later, and the standalone version requires Mac OS 10.9 or later. An RTAS plug-in is also available for use in ProTools 8/9/10 on the Mac. The Windows version of SoundSoap 4 requires Windows 7 or Windows 8, and it includes the standalone application as well as VST and AAX plug-ins. The standalone version of SoundSoap 4 reads all major audio and video file formats, including QuickTime, H.264, CAF, MP4, WAV and AIFF.
