Seattle, Washington – Malingo Studios today is proud to announce the release and immediate availability of The Dissonant 1.0 for iPhone and iPad, a free app that provides hand-picked daily music recommendations. The Dissonant app is sourced from TheDissonant website, which is a multi-author music blog. It provides categories including new releases, album reviews, and daily jams, and tends to focus on hip hop, indie, and folk/bluegrass genres.

Up-and-coming artists and user-created playlists will regularly be featured as well. Most posts, including many entire albums, can be listened to with the embedded SoundCloud or Spotify player. Buttons to iTunes and YouTube are provided as well, and users can save posts to their favorites for quick access.

Social functionality is built directly in the app. A Twitter feed is embedded for all the artists and posts so users can read the latest hype. Users can also quickly tweet their thoughts on the music. In addition, all posts can be shared via Twitter, Facebook and email using the share button directly on the title bar.

Pricing and Availability:
The Dissonant 1.0 is free and available worldwide exclusively through the Apple App Store in the Music and Lifestyle categories.
